The REGIS Agency wins the 2007 Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Award in the Enterprise Systems category. The ESIG awards, inaugurated in 1980 by the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), recognize extraordinary achievement by government agencies in the use of automated information systems. The REGIS Agency will be officially recognized with an award on Wednesday, August 22, during the morning plenary session at URISA’s 45th Annual Conference in Washington, DC.
This achievement is defined as the effective application of computer technology that can be measured in terms of improved delivery and quality of government services and increased benefits to citizens. Systems in this category are outstanding and working examples of using information systems technology in a multi-department environment as part of an integrated process. Almost 25 applications were received for this year’s competition.
Since 1963, URISA has been the professional home of choice for Public Sector GIS and IT Executives throughout the United States, Canada and other countries worldwide. URISA is considered to be the premier organization for the use and integration of spatial information technology to improve the quality of life in urban and regional environments.
Additional information on the award can be found on the URISA website.
